| What type of wood is used for the Camden Collection? | Camden is made from sustainable mango veneers and rubber wood solids. The mixture of particle board and MDF prevents furniture from warping and splitting, and also increases stability. |
| What makes mango sustainable? | Camden uses veneers from mango trees – huge trees that are initially grown for their fruit. The trees can reach 60 to 100 feet in height and can grow three to five feet in diameter. However, once the trees reach this size, they stop producing fruit. The farmers cut down those trees to make room for new mango trees that can produce fruit. Once the older trees are cut down, the mango wood is used for making wood products. Mango wood offers a unique and beautiful look perfect for home furniture. |
| Is the surface of the wood distressed in any way? | The Camden collection features light distressing. Distressing gives character and a feeling of authenticity to furniture. Light distressing means your furniture will have:
Fly Specking- Little dots of dark paint randomly seen throughout the finish. Worm Holes- Darkened holes and trails in the furniture, created by a heated nail that is hammered into the wood. |
| Can the desk return be assembled in either a left- or right-hand configuration? | Yes. |
| Are the Desk and Return fully finished all the way around? | The Return is fully finished on the front and back, but the back of the desk and hutch is not. |
| What is behind the door on the Bookcase with Doors? | There is one adjustable shelf behind the bookcase doors. |
| Are the assembly instructions available online? | All Springhill Designs products include ¨white glove¨ delivery. This means they are delivered and assembled in your home. Instructions are included with the furniture if you need to move or disassemble it. |
| What is English dovetail drawer construction? | English dovetail drawer construction is the strongest drawer construction available. Created with interlocking joints, it ensures that the drawer front will not disconnect over time or with repeated use. |
What are the benefits of full extension ball bearing drawer glides? |
There are multiple benefits to full extension ball bearing drawer glides. ¨Full extension¨ means the drawer can be pulled completely out. Ball bearing drawer glides are the highest-quality drawer glide and are extremely durable. They allow smooth opening and closing, so you don´t have to fight with your drawer to get it open.
